The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Department of the Navy F-35 B/C Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Upgrade (MRO&U) organization within the F-35 Sustainment organization of Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS)to perform the duties of an F-35 Modification Tooling Manager.
Job Description:
Control the efficient inventorying, control and flow of Aviation MRO&U tooling, support, and information to meet customer requirements and production schedules. Ensure that customer service and support objectives are achieved within existing schedule constraints to meet production objectives. Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions. Build relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives, integrating information from customers, Supply Chain Management, sustainment support teams, Packaging, Handling, Shipment and Transportation personnel, customer service, and other industry groups to continuously manage and improve Mod Tooling support for F-35 MRO&U operations at FRC East Cherry Point. Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks. Must be proactive and always utilize sound judgment and can establish and preserve creditable relationships with all government and industry team stakeholders. Will be a direct report day-to-day to the Industry Team Site Manager for Maintenance and Logistics at Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East.
Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
• Screen aircraft induction plans for upcoming planned aircraft modification events.
• Attend baseline Standard Work Package (SWP), Dry Docks and Predock reviews to verify modifications planned for each aircraft induction.
• Screen approved mods in F-35 Joint Technical Data (JTD) library to identify if mod kits are on-hand and/or need to be ordered in advance of aircraft arrival.
• Develop mod kit tracking sheets and inventories, participate in mod tooling joint inspections and audits.
• Plan as necessary to ensure all mod kits for each aircraft are onsite no later than 30 days before induction.
• Inspect and inventory all kits for serviceability, inventory accuracy and that all required paperwork is on hand.
• Build Tool Service Requirements List (TSRL) Sub kits as necessary based on the number of aircraft the TSRL supports.
• Notify leadership when tooling kits are on-hand, added to Autonomics Logistics Information System (ALIS) by the mod and its location for visibility.
• Assist the FRC East Tool Room Attendant with inventorying TSRL kits returned after each use for accountability and serviceability prior to signing the kit back into the mod tooling storage area.
• Monitor TSRL usage, replenish TSRL kits as needed, screen items for calibration requirements and request final disposition of all tooling kits once all aircraft modifications for each Modification TCTD have been completed.
Basic Qualifications:
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED and 6 years of directly related MRO&U work experience. Will consider a bachelor's degree and 2 years of applied experience; or a master's degree.
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
• Must possess basic knowledge of identification and use of Machinist and Sheetmetal related tools such as reamers, bushings, and drill bits.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, and Project).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Aircraft maintenance experience.
• Experience and working knowledge with F-35 sustainment tools; Product Data Manager (PDM), JSF Data Library (JDL), Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).
• Experience with Time Compliance Technical Directive (TCTD) documents.
• Possess knowledge of identification and use of Machinist and Sheetmetal related tools such as reamers, bushings, and drill bits.
• Prior experience working with US Military service representatives a plus.
Primary Level Salary Range: $59,600.00 - $89,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
