JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership for the Maintenance and Facility support teams for the Blue Bird South Plant. Building maintenance, logistical management activities and health/safety responsibility is included. This person must be highly motivated and be able to transfer this motivation to the workforce.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet established departmental and company objectives
- Promote and provide a safe, healthy work environment
- Must be supportive and capable of implementation of management decisions and company policy
- Provide reports as relating to objectives and results using Microsoft Office software (Word, Project and Excel)
- Must maintain 5 S techniques and housekeeping objectives throughout the production floor
- Must be able to lead, motivate and promote good employee relations
- Must be able to implement and maintain a robust preventive (Predictive) Maintenance program
- Must be able to work with support areas to identify capital equipment specifications for rebuild and/or replacement decisions supporting strategic decisions
- Must be able to evaluate and professionally deliver direct report performance
- Must be able to maintain departmental budgets
- Must be able to lead or act as a positive change agent in the workplace
- Development, planning, scheduling, coordination and execution of projects
- Capable of recognizing equipment/facility/tooling needs with the reaction of implementing an improvement project
- Must be able to maintain departmental budgets
- Must manage a focused safety approach with clear Lock Out Tag Out procedures
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong organizational skills, coordination of multiple activates
- Ability to plan, manage and deliver projects on time and in budget
- Preventative maintenance schedules and continuous improvement techniques
- Strong foundation in basic industrial engineering
- Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have working knowledge of Lean techniques and capabilities to apply principles
- Must have established excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have previously established leadership experience in an industrial environment
BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Associate’s Degree required
- 3+ years of previous experience in Machinery and Facilities Maintenance in a production environment, fabrication preferred
- All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field, preferred
