We are seeking a Global Transportation Manager to support the Global Supply Chain team at our Corporate Headquarters in Chicago, IL. This position is responsible for providing the tools, analysis, and reports necessary to assist the Global Transportation Team with a low-cost transportation network. Key Accountabilities:  

  • Utilize quantitative skills to analyze, validate, manipulate and manage large amounts of data specific for the purposes of problem solving and trend analysis reporting.
  • Establish a quality repository of historic lane volume, cost and load productivity data.
  • Improve logistics processes through strategic thinking, process improvement, prioritization and planning
  • Assist Director, Global Logistics with freight analysis templates and data to review lane selection and planning of capacity
  • Works closely with field operations to provide routing information, expedited services and recommendations to make timely deliveries of products to support customer service objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relevant reports and applications such as carrier scorecards and Freight Cost of Goods reports.
  • Oversee the claims process of damaged goods, shortages, returns and resolve any issues.
  • Assist in the development of business cases, ad-hoc queries and reporting from a variety of resources specific to the department’s needs
  • Assist in documenting best business practices and compliance programs (CTPAT) across all business units involved with international freight
  • Escalation point for resolution of issues for service delay or non-compliance.
  • Work closely with field operations to resolve carrier invoices promptly and accurately.
  • Responsible for the preparation and execution of ocean and air freight bids.
  • Negotiate rates and terms and conditions to maintain and/or improve service level
  • Remain current on global logistics trends and developments

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:  

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Requires a minimum of directly related experience of 3 years
  • Knowledge of conducting international business
  • Knowledge of International Logistics terminology and processes
  • Experience with global logistics analysis and management
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Structured negotiation experience including contract negotiation
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with an international Transportation Management System

Working Environment:  

Hybrid work schedule (3+ days in office) at our Corporate Headquarters office in Chicago, IL.  We are currently located at 525 W. Monroe Street in the West Loop with plans to move to the Merchandise Mart in 2026.

IL Base Pay Range$67,000—$77,000 USD
