Job Description

The Manager - Key Account Division is responsible for maximizing customer/UNITED profitability and case sales in all assigned areas by building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers, store execution, and effective price package planning in order to maximize sales and profit. Customers may include Large Store and Small Store. This is a field-based role.

What your day will look like:

  • Builds and implements a customer’s yearly business plan and ensures proper execution of pricing, promotional programs and Customer Marketing Agreements (CMA)
  • Ensures in-outlet standards are executed per channel direction
  • Leads the call for each assigned customer and is responsible for selling in key initiatives such as price package plan, business results, new brands, promotions and marketing activities
  • Coordinates the development of aligned business goals with customers based on channel strategy
  • Responsible for conducting market visits with customers to measure performance vs execution standards in each channel they may service
  • Provides feedback and recommendations to the leadership team on competitive threats and business opportunities
  • Leads the negotiation and renewal of contracts as needed
  • Generates budgeted internal rate of return and profit analysis
  • Manages the executive level relationship with each customer and assists in resolving any concerns and issues of customers
  • Ensures all business and financial goals are achieved
  • Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management

What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 Years Managerial Experience preferred
  • Ability to create and manage price package plans that meet or exceed business goals
  • Accountable for timely and accurate price management
  • Accountable for validating pricing to ensure accuracy monthly
  • Takes leadership role communicating strategies and promotions
  • Collaborates with functional partners to execute customer and channel plans
  • Provides feedback and recommendations to the leadership team on competitive threats and business opportunities
  • Responsible for creating and posting monthly Picture of Success (PicOS)
  • Ensures execution across every customer per channel direction
  • Owns the call point for each assigned customer
  • Responsible for creation and implementation of Customer Marketing Agreements (CMAs) aligned to channel strategy
  • Leads the negotiations and renewals of all Customer’s Marketing Agreement (CMA)
  • Manages all levels of relationship with each customer and assists in resolving any concerns and issues
  • Reviews business results with customers at a pre-determined frequency and gains alignment on key business initiatives
  • Beverage and consumer packaged goods experience preferred. Knowledge of bottler environment may include emphasis in all equipment (Freestyle, Fountain, Coolers, Vending, Micro Market) and systems along with business development planning experience
  • Complex selling knowledge with proven ability to create and implement customer specific promotional programs & key initiatives
  • Proven ability to manage needs and concerns of multiple stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to quickly learn internal United systems, SAP, and Margin Minder
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and exposure to weather
  • Frequent typing and keyboarding
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs

Physical Requirements

Position will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Position is required to wear safety toed shoes when performing the following tasks: Operating Powered Industrial Equipment or Working in an Area where Powered Industrial Equipment is in use, Fleet Maintenance, Working with Palletized Product, Use of Hand Trucks/Dollies to Deliver Product, Cooler Services, etc.
