ASGCO produces a proprietary line of bulk material handling conveyor components that enhance conveyor productivity, safety and reliability. We are focused on providing solutions for spillage and dust control in load zone transfer points and optimizing overall conveyor performance. Primary target industries include coal mines, coal-fired power plants, metals/minerals, cement and or other hard rock mining.
We are seeking students that reside in the greater Lehigh Valley area for a Summer 2025 Mechanical Design Engineering Internship based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Nazareth, Pennsylvania with intentions of future employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform functions to identify, conceptualize and design bulk material conveyor transfer system components to meet end user needs. Under general direction
- Work with Sales and Engineering and Fabrication departments to develop solutions to meet end user bulk material conveyor transfer system needs
- Provide support as required for customers, both internal and external
- Participate in design reviews and brainstorming activities with other design engineers
- Develop and maintain CAD skills in software utilized by our organization
- Ensure necessary details, dimensions and calculations are prepared and accurate applying applicable standards
- Prepare detail fabrication drawings from the final three-dimensional models and ensure completeness of data on prints
- Assist in reviewing Fabrication details and review extensively prior to fabrication
- Maintain contacts and good working relationships with customers and suppliers
- Assist Territory Sales Managers with engineering drawings and other technical services
- Provide AutoCAD and other types of engineering product drawings for projects and sales for Distributors and end-user in the territory
- Look to improve our current products and look for new products for us to promote and improve upon
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Drafting Designer or similar (working on a degree in an accredited college/university)
- Recent experience using 3D solid modeling software is required; Inventor experience strongly preferred
- Strong MS Office skills and experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
