As a Mechanical Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for supporting our LSS obsolescence program. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of mitigating obsolescence concerns and deliver high-quality customer migration strategies. Your expertise in mechanical engineering principles, methodologies, and understanding of mechanical component relationships will contribute to the overall productivity and effectiveness of the mechanical engineering function.

You will report directly to our LSS Mechanical Engineering Supervisor, and work out of our Mason, OH location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will have a significant impact on the design and execution of LSS obsolescence and product lifecycle management, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consult on aftermarket obsolescence migration strategies and cross-functionally work with C&E, OM, and Sales to deliver these strategies.
  • Forge relationships with supply chain to ensure hardware deliverables are on schedule.
  • Drive interdepartmental continuous improvement initiatives as part of a continuous feedback loop.
  • Provide direction to customers on the serviceability of their equipment, occasionally during active downtime events/emergencies.
  • Research and compile the engineering parts lists for sunset products to target for discontinuations.
  • Upgrade legacy systems to the latest mechanical standards (performance, safety, reliability).
  • Participate in field execution of aftermarket services projects.
  • Support other LSS engineering functions, specifically obsolescence planning, as required.

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in the material handling industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and exposure to project/program management functions.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred).
