JOB SUMMARY:
The Renewables & Resiliency Manager position is responsible for leading the successful implementation of Georgia Power’s Renewables and Resiliency programs available to customers. This role is a manager of managers role, providing leadership for 3 managers and supporting approximately 15 total team members. This position will report to the Georgia Power corporate office at 241 Ralph McGill Blvd in Atlanta.
The Renewables programs include the suite of regulatory-approved subscription offerings, primarily solar, across all customer segments. These include the CARES, CRSP, C&I REDI, Flex RECS, Community Solar, Simple Solar and Behind-the-Meter (BTM) offerings.
The Resiliency or Distributed Energy Resource (DER) programs target resources such as backup generators at business customer premises that can be leveraged as supply-side or demand-side solutions for the Company. The offerings in the DER portfolio include the Customer Pilot, Colocation (DCL), Customer Owned (DCO), and Large Customer Owned Resiliency (LCOR) programs.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for providing support and guidance for state-wide efforts to deploy the Renewables and DER strategy, services, and programs
- Serve as subject matter expert on the Renewables & DER programs from both a regulatory and internal process perspective
- Engage and collaborate with Georgia PSC staff and intervenors on the implementation of the Renewables and DER programs and their future evolution as a platform for serving customers’ needs
- Responsible for overseeing the ongoing development of the framework and leadership that support the Company’s efforts on Renewables and DER
- Responsible for meeting programs goals through development of leads, initial contact with customers, proposal development, service agreement contracting, and developing creative technical and commercial solutions with internal and external partners
- Provide leadership and work direction to the managers and teams regarding prioritizing efforts, determining program fit, developing business cases, contract negotiations, engineering, design, and construction of assets
- Engage with various asset and technology providers, vendors, and other potential partners to ensure that GPC is providing customers with high quality, reliable, and cost-effective assets to meet their needs
- Engage as needed with customers to develop the scope of work to support Renewables and DER projects
- Engage with GPC and SCS internal groups including Transmission, Distribution, Generation Procurement, Planning & Regulatory Support, Pricing & Planning, Legal, Regulatory, Finance, Accounting, Managed Accounts, National Accounts, Customer Solutions, Business Development, Economic Development, Region External Affairs, New Ventures and others to develop the scope, perform risk assessment, and incorporate lessons learned necessary for project success
- Engage with other utilities to discuss best practices, strategies, and technologies for Renewables and DER
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering discipline
- Proven record of communicating effectively externally with large influential customers
- Proven record of communicating effectively internally across a broad set of functions and organizations
- Experience leading teams in an environment that blends technical and business acumen is preferred
- Experience developing proposals and project management associated with a variety of complex projects is preferred
- Experience working for or closely with GPC Customer Solutions, Regulatory Affairs, Pricing & Rates, Planning & Regulatory Support, Generation Procurement, Power Delivery and SCS Generation Planning & Development is preferred
- Experience working on regulatory filings, regulated programs, and/or working with Georgia PSC staff is a plus
- Experience working with external vendors/contractors is a plus

- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
