This position is responsible for leading sales and marketing efforts within Georgia Power and Southern Company’s connectivity organization to achieve revenue growth targets. The successful candidate will market fiber connectivity solutions by prospecting and identifying sales targets, capitalizing on data center growth in the Southeast, managing the sales pipeline, leading proposal development, contract negotiations, and executing new revenue contracts. The position facilitates communication between sales teams with internal and external customers, conducts market research to identify new opportunities and develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business or engineering. The ideal candidate should possess at least 5 years of experience in a commercial setting, with an emphasis on business development, sales and marketing, and identifying and executing profitable business opportunities. Exceptional organizational skills are essential for managing multiple sales opportunities and high-profile customers at once. A strong commercial and sales-oriented mindset is required to effectively engage with both internal and external customers and develop value-added solutions.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Specify major duties performed by the job and % of time spent on duties.
- Leading all aspects of the business development process to achieve company revenue growth targets in the following verticals:
- Dark fiber sales
- Lit fiber sales
- Development and sales of other connectivity solutions
- Managing internal CRM tools and reporting systems, ensuring accurate tracking of sales pipelines, executed agreements, customer interactions and contract implementation progress.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends and competitive landscapes to uncover new business opportunities and anticipate potential challenges, providing actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key clients, including working with hyperscale data center customers, to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, drive repeat business, and boost long-term revenue growth.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key internal stakeholders to demonstrate the value of the commercial fiber organization and attain key approvals.
- Provide regular updates on sales progress and revenue performance to company stakeholders, delivering clear and comprehensive reports that inform business strategies and highlight areas for improvement.
