Responsibilities*
- Responsible for Transport and Lift Team staff on their shift/area
- Train new Transport and Lift Team staff in the proper process and procedures for safe patient
transports. - Provide reinforcement of proper process and procedures for the existing staff as needed and provide
new processe and procedure training - Manage staffing and maintains labor hours for each day to control overtime expenses
- Ensure employees are compliant with yearly mandatory training for their role
- Respond and resolve customer issues and escalations, dispatches staff as needed for resolution
- Perform daily rounding and staff observations to support productivity
- Monitor timeliness of transports and identify staff who may need additional guidance and support to
reach goal of 30mins per transport - Accurately manages payroll and leave of absences to identify when staff hiring for permenant and
temporary staff need to take place - Conducts interviews for new hires and temporarty staff
- Develops and recommend department operating budget and ensure the department operates within
budget - Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies
- Follow up on all customer service opportunities and provides resolution in a timely fashion
- Conducts daily staff meetings/huddles
Required Qualifications*
- 1.5 years of direct supervisory experience of one or multiple supply/service processes.
- Capacity to develop knowledge of Logistics principles and practices inclusive of business techniques
and the technical aspects of the particular area(s) of responsibility will be necessary. - Demonstrated capability of the following interpersonal skills: team building, teamwork coaching,
conflict resolution, communication. - Proven project planning, goal setting, and change management skills.
- Reasonable knowledge of computer systems is necessary (i.e.: Word, Excel, MPathways:
Timekeeping).
Desired Qualifications*
- Associates Degree, or higher, is desired, or 3 or more progressive years of supervisory skills.
- Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures, and regulations
- Reasonable business experience in an administrative capacity is desired.
Work Schedule
Appointment: 40 hours
Hours/Days: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
