Review and process incoming client requests for commercial lending facilities, in accordance with Mortgage Warehouse Lending (MWL) client facility agreements, documented procedures and investor guidelines. Maintain security and integrity of client accounts by following established guidelines set by the department to minimize loss and consistently provide superior client service to internal and external clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Provide exceptional service as primary point of contact for assigned Mortgage Warehouse Lending clients to influence revenue by making Truist the preferred lender. The relationships managed have the highest level of monitoring of any commercial relationship and typically include the highest commitment level in the bank.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries, identify and resolve client needs and ensure positive client interactions.
  • Communicate effectively with teammates at all levels regarding client activity and status.
  • Adhere to documented policies and procedures and evaluate transactions to ensure risk tolerance is maintained.
  • Be the first line of defense for risk management by proactively identifying potential risks and escalating to management.
  • Process client funding requests to initiate wires for residential loan closings and apply investor payments as detailed on purchase advices and other required documentation.
  • Track receipt and review of collateral in order to process client requests to ship original notes to investors for purchase.
  • Ensure accuracy of transactions by analyzing documentation received and information uploaded into the data tracking system.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies to ensure client pipeline accuracy and provide daily reports to clients for reconcilement purposes.
  • Perform settlements for Syndicated Clients by processing advances and payments.
  • Request wires and apply funds received from participating lenders. Monitor activity on client accounts in order to reconcile to data tracking system records, bank DDA system and General Ledger (GL).
  • Ensure proper disposition and resolution of funds received in error.
  • Progressive responsibilities may include, but are not limited to verifying team balance sheets, operational procedure review, assisting with various projects and participate in quality control testing of new data system applications, upgrades and changes.

  • 1+ year(s) of banking and/or client service experience
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with all levels of internal and external clients
  • Ability to perform work in accordance with specific procedures and challenge effectiveness of processes for improvement.
  • Ability to maintain composure and flexibility during high volumes while working under pressure
  • Ability to work effectively in both a team environment and individually
  • Ability to analyze root cause of errors, apply critical thinking to determine resolution and make independent decisions
  • Detail-oriented, able to meet short deadlines, and have some mathematical aptitude
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge or background in warehouse lending, commercial lending, residential loan documents, mortgage loan terms, investor requirements and/or accounting.
