Summary
The position is located in the Outpatient Clinic, Four Corners Regional Health Center, Red Mesa, Arizona. The nurse performs a variety of professional nursing care procedures and treatment for outpatient, specialty clinics and urgent care. The position reports to the Supervisory Nurse or designee.

Duties
- Provides professional nursing care to patients presenting the Outpatient Clinic.
- Initiates treatment, medications, emergency, and resuscitative measures based on appropriate utilization of standing orders, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and standards of Emergency Care.
- Records observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures and other relevant patient care data.
- Develops individualized patient care plans or participates in patient care planning which involves the assessment and evaluation of patient needs, a determination of the nursing procedures and practices to be included.
- Interviews patients and family members and consults with attending physicians, other staff members to determine and evaluate the kind of health and physical care needed.
- Reviews and interprets findings to distinguish between normal and abnormal conditions. (Ambulatory care during screening/triage).
- Carries out treatments and emergency or other procedures required; administers medications; observes and documents patients' conditions, changes and reactions to medications and medical treatment.
- Provide nursing services to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and socio-cultural needs of the urgent and critically ill patients and family.
- Other duties as assigned.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):

Education: A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the , , , or an accrediting body recognized by the at the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the . In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Experience: The work experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. At the GS-9 and above grade level, many positions may require experience in a specialty area of nursing.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-09 Grade Level: In addition to the above requirements, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Possession of a master's degree in professional nursing; or
- At least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or above) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program.
- Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of Professional Nursing Experience to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Experience in human behavior and the ability to communicate with and provide nursing services to patients; experience in the techniques and the operational mechanics of medical equipment; experience with accurately transcribing physician's orders, performing health assessments and accurately documenting in patient's medical record; experience with pharmacology of a wide variety of drugs, dosages, routes of administration, therapeutic action, drug interactions, and adverse reactions.
- To qualify at the GS-10 grade level, applicants must meet one of the following qualification requirements: Professional nursing experiences at the GS-10 level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least theGS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples of specialized experience: Perform initial diagnosis for minor or major problems of patient in an outpatient clinic setting; consulting and coordinating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. Initiates treatments, medications, emergency, and resuscitative measures. Observes, assesses, and stabilizes urgently and critically ill pediatric, adult and geriatric patient's health status.
