Rex Inpatient Rehab Services is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Per Diem Occupational Therapist to support our growing team. This flexible position is utilized to assist with acute care patient volumes, PTO and leave of absence coverage, as well as weekend scheduling needs. 

In this role, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to patients whose ability to engage in the daily tasks of living has been impacted by developmental conditions, aging, medical issues, or psychosocial challenges. The ideal candidate will bring at least one year of acute care or hospital-based experience, along with strong clinical reasoning and a patient-centered approach to care. 

Key responsibilities include conducting thorough evaluations, providing skilled therapeutic interventions, documenting treatment progress, and offering education to patients, families, and students. You will also play a supportive role in clinical development and maintain collaborative communication within the interdisciplinary team. 

Supervision is provided by an Occupational Therapist II or Occupational Therapist Supervisor, and you’ll be part of a dedicated department that values excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities:
1. Completes OT documentation in the medical record per department guidelines and completes department records for billing and statistics
2. Manages OT caseload with efficiency and efficacy
3. Manages resources needed to perform OT treatment plan to accomplish the goals set for the patient
4. Plans and coordinates clinical programs in response to patient needs, technologies, clinical practices, regulations and reimbursement. Provides regular communication with physicians, supervisor, and others regarding OT programs and patients served.
5. Provides clinical supervision and teaching for OT students or staff. Plans orientation, caseload, and other learning activities. Provides regular feedback and coaching. Evaluates the learner's performance.
6. Selects and performs appropriate Occupational Therapy (OT) evaluation procedures to identify and assess problems. Sets treatment goals and devises a treatment plan. Re-evaluates and adjusts the treatment plan in response to the patient's changing condition and discharge plans.

● Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
