Job Summary:

Responsible for all daily operation and maintenance activities for the Greens Bayou Generating Station. This includes responsibility for all operations functions as well as all maintenance & planning work.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of Greens Bayou Generating Station. Including all scheduling, outage request & notification, unit status and safe and compliant operation of the power plant equipment.
  • Evaluate production output, efficiency and related variables and the overall effectiveness of operation practices and procedures.
  • Direct and supervise maintenance performance.
  • Develop a complete operations and maintenance budget, track the budget, and ensure the plant is operated and maintained within the approved budget.
  • Manage corporate safety and environmental programs.
  • Provide accurate, routine and special reports on maintenance activities, cost allocation, system and equipment reliability.
  • Collect and maintain required evidence for NERC/WECC reporting.
  • Responsible for training of operators and maintenance technicians.
  • Update PowerGads as necessary.
  • Coordinate contractor support services as required.

Working Conditions:

Works under limited supervision in a team environment. Supervises employees plus all contractors on the facility. Establishes priorities for all maintenance activities at the facilities. Involves contact with all levels of employees through senior management, and frequent external contact with outside business partners such as vendors, suppliers and contractors.

Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma and a minimum of 8 years' of experience with operations/maintenance at a power plant OR Baccalaureate degree in an Engineering, Business, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, and 5 years maintenance or operations experience in a power plant.

Ability to work effectively in-plant environments and field locations.

This position requires extended work hours to support the plant as required. The incumbent is required is required to be available on a 24/7 emergency basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in engineering. Knowledge of EH&S rules, regulations and procedures preferred. Environmental control experience preferred. Capital project experience preferred.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of gas technologies preferred.

Physical Requirements (Demand and Frequency):

Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment

Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities

Please Note: Salary offered will be commensurate with the successful candidate's education and/or experience and consistent with the job location's market pay rate.
