Summary
This paralegal is responsible for review, negotiation and documentation of contracts; subpoena compliance and litigation records management; and review of advertising and promotional programs.
The paralegal directly provides legal and business information to client groups on daily basis. The paralegal will manage a high volume of general contractual matters and oversee records management for other legal issues. The paralegal filling this role is someone who must have some transactional and/or litigation experience, work prioritization skills, good people skills, and exemplary writing skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare agreements under the supervision of the General Counsel necessary for the Company’s execution of sales and purchases from 3rd party customers and suppliers.
- Provide contract records management support as needed.
- Supervise all records management related to legal matters.
- Issue and maintain litigation holds and assist with gathering of information in response to discovery requests and similar inquiries.
- Review and correct advertising and sales materials for legal and company policy compliance issues, including sweepstakes and promotions.
- Assist the General Counsel in managing the relationship with outside stakeholders, especially in matters related to Intellectual Property/Brand management.
- Assist the General Counsel in planning, budgeting and monitoring the department operational budget.
- Prepare responses to governmental and other public agencies regarding general corporate information on the company.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies from an ABA-approved program or a Bachelor’s degree with a Paralegal Studies Certificate from an ABA approved program.
- 5+ years of experience with in-house or law firm servicing clients in the consumer goods industry.
