Pharmacy Supervisor - Sterile
Job Description
Our Pharmacy in Bakersfield is hiring a Sterile Compounding Supervisor to lead the production of high-quality, safe, and efficient compounded preparations. The person in this role will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, quality and SOPs, and drive continuous improvement in compounding processes and manage our Sterile Pharmacy Technicians.
When will you work?
- The pharmacy is open Monday – Friday 8:15am-5:15pm.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a team of Compounding Technicians
- Set clear, specific productivity and quality expectations
- Comply with USP <795>, <797> and <800> regulations
- Assist PIC and support staff selecting drugs from stock for dispensing and compounding preparations.
- Provide regular feedback to PIC.
- Identify and recommend improvements to formulations.
- Maintain the highest level of quality.
- Apply mathematical operations to various pharmacy functions.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of pharmacy equipment and supplies.
- Supervise technicians and support personnel.
- Develop team members through formal coaching and individualized and targeted feedback
- Ensure patient and company information remains confidential
- Adhere to all applicable company policies and state/federal regulations
- Collaborate interdepartmentally to provide, or ask for, assistance regarding compounding or staffing as dictated by business needs.

What you’ve done:
- Graduate of accredited school of pharmacy and licensed in good standing with the California State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacist.
- 2 years experience managing the efforts of others in a pharmacy lab setting
- 2-5 years of compounding experience
- Proven ability to lead by example, communicate with and motivate team members.
- Ability to monitor and obtain compliance with organizations policies and expectations
