General Purpose
The Purchased Products Planning Manager provides leadership, strategic, and direction for product supply to ensure the Demand is fulfilled with an optimal cost within the Supply Chain. Leading activities of Inventory management, Purchased Orders, Lead Times, transportation planning, product lifecycle, short and mid-term planning, manufacturing scheduling, raw material planning, planning system functionality and master data. The Planning Manager closely collaborates with partners in Manufacturing, Warehouse, Commercialization, Quality, Procurement, Transportation, Key Account Managers and Field Operations. Will also interface and manage planning activities with vendors and other bottlers for Purchased goods. PIVO (S&OP) and provide analytics to drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage strategic logistics planning related to finished goods purchasing, product deployment, and transportation. Consider capabilities, capacity, and costs constraints in overall inventory and transportation plan.
- Work with functional partners, Vendors, and other Bottlers to ensure in-stock, inventory working capital, and transportation goals are achieved. Ensure system master data is aligned to provide appropriate plan and is accurate.
- Manage and optimize $12M on Inventory, supply product for each of the DC’s impacting more than $1B on Revenues.
- Supply and replenish more than 135M eq cases of purchased products
- Responsible for determining how allocated products will be sourced considering product availability, vendor capacities and transportation costs
- Provides reporting and analytical support in the areas of inventory management, specific customer supply chain support, and product supply policies.
- Manages new purchased product introduction process by working with Innovation, Commercialization, Key Accounts, Customers, Master Data, and Sales to support the rollout of new products (introductions), promotional packaging, and holiday inventory planning.
- Manages synergies, Purchased Orders, Allocations to supply Imports purchased finish goods supply.
- Assist with the development and enhancement of inventory forecasting and inventory management tools such as Day’s Supply, Low Inventory Reports, At-Risk/Over-Stock Products and Underperforming SKU’s.
- Lead continuous improvement activities/teams for product supply, forecasting, material planning and control, inventory management, and new product introduction initiatives to meet and overachieve the Income Statement of its locations ($1B Sales).
- Develops and refines KPI’s and processes around Purchased product demand and supply.
- Lead weekly meetings with ELT, ELT+2 and Field Operations to report and act on main KPI’s such as Fill Rate, Cut Cases, Days of Supply, Forecast, etc.
- Reports main KPI’s to Corporate, MOR and PIVO on a monthly basis about Purchased products.
- Lead weekly meetings with the different Vendors (e.g., Monster, Dr Pepper, NAOU, AC Mexico) to ensure product availability.
- Responsible to solve supply issues whenever there is a vendor capacity constraints (balance product, move product or ask product to other Bottler).
- Responsible to allocate and Balance Purchased product to all locations ensuring fair share and guaranteeing availability when an SKU is constrained.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, industrial engineering or related field, and/or equivalent level of work experience required.
- Must have 3-5 years direct work experience in supply planning, transportation, or related functions.
- 1+ years supervisory or management experience required.
- Must be proficient with Excel/Access and SAP.
- Three to five years managing production planning, purchasing & scheduling, inventory allocation for multiple facilities preferred.
- Experience supporting multiple locations in the area of warehouse, transportation and/or other logistics functions preferred.
- APICS Certification a plus. Process Management experience or certification in Lean / Six- Sigma preferred.
- Must be willing to travel 10-25% of the time, depending on Business Unit geography.
- Bilingual Preferred ( English/Spanish )
