JOB DESCRIPTION

Apex is seeking a seasoned manager with strong leadership and consulting skills to act as a leader within Apex Systems’ Solution Delivery Organization. This role will lead hybrid teams of internal and external consultants to design, develop and deliver complex infrastructure projects for our Fortune 1000 clients, including data center builds, modernization initiatives, private cloud deployments, virtualization migrations, and field services deployments. This role will also provide thought leadership for the consulting practice and will help to manage, mentor, and develop Apex Systems’ internal consultants in their career growth and development. This role will be responsible for client deliverables as well as internal leadership and management of consulting professionals.

RESPONSIBLITIES

Practice Leadership & Growth

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of infrastructure practice consultants.
  • Support the execution of the strategic roadmap specifically in traditional Infrastructure domain.
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and professional development of practice team members.
  • Foster a Community of Practice that leads with innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement and revenue growth.

Project Delivery & Oversight

  • Oversee the successful delivery of large infrastructure projects across multiple clients.
  • Provide hands-on leadership in project planning, execution, and course correction when needed.
  • Act as an escalation point for project issues and ensure timely resolution.

Solution Development & Standardization

  • Oversee the design and implement repeatable, scalable, and standardized infrastructure delivery solutions by practice team.
  • Collaborate with sales and pre-sales teams to develop repeatable solution architectures and proposals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our offerings remain competitive.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Proactively provide solutions and approach adversity with a solution-focused mindset.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business needs and aligning solutions accordingly.
  • Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, RFP responses, and solution presentations.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and long-term relationship growth.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in managing infrastructure consulting engagements such as design, implement, and manage
  • Strong understanding of data center technologies such as,
    • Virtualization & Private Cloud – VMware, Nutanix, OpenStack, Red Hat OpenShift or Microsoft Hyper-V
    • Networking – SD-WAN (Cisco, Fortinet), Software-Defined Networking (SDN), MPLS
    • Network Automation – Ansible, Terraform, SolarWinds
    • Network Switching & Routing – Cisco, Juniper
  • 4+ years of experience directly managing infrastructure architecture and engineering teams.
  • Certifications – Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE, VMware Certified Professional or Data Center Certified Professional are nice to have.
  • BA/BS required, preferably in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields (applicable education and experience may be substituted).
