What You'll Do
The Platform Engineering Team at TJX IT is responsible for establishing and managing enterprise-grade platforms. As a Principal Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technology and capabilities roadmap for Enterprise DevSecOps, Performance & Quality Engineering, IT Management, and Application & Performance Monitoring tools. Your work will align with TJX's overall IT strategy and vision, driving the modernization roadmap and ensuring the platform technology meets business needs.
- Technology & Capability Roadmaps: Define, own, and manage roadmaps for tools and platforms that enable DevSecOps, continuous testing, performance & quality engineering, enterprise monitoring, and IT management capabilities. Ensure alignment with customer needs and TJX's IT strategy.
- Cloud Engineering Partnership: Collaborate with Cloud Engineering and architecture teams to mature and develop the public cloud roadmap and cloud-native capabilities.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to develop strategies and guide the implementation of the technology and capability roadmap.
- Design Patterns Repository: Establish and govern a repository of approved design patterns for solutions hosted on the platform.
- Technology Adoption: Partner with Enterprise Architecture, engineering scrum teams, security, and infrastructure teams to assess and adopt new technologies.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Direct and mentor internal engineering teams and vendors, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
- Operational Stability: Define architecture guardrails and establish a governance model that balances developer autonomy with operational stability.
- Platform Standards: Create platform configuration standards to ensure consistency and stability in solution deployment.
- Consulting Support: Provide SME consulting support on design patterns, standards, and best practices.
- Portfolio Planning: Collaborate with platform owners to prioritize and plan the platform engineering portfolio.
- Alignment with EA Standards: Ensure alignment between Enterprise Architecture standards and the platform roadmap.
- Cross-Domain Collaboration: Work with Solution Architecture and other Platform Architecture domains to align the platform roadmap with the larger IT ecosystem and modernization solutions.
What You'll Need
Skills, Mindset, and Approach:

What you'll have:
- 5+ years of experience in architecting and designing solutions on a public cloud platform (Microsoft Azure is a strong plus).
- In-depth understanding of DevSecOps concepts, tools, processes, and frameworks.
- Experience in architecting and implementing CI/CD and continuous testing pipelines.
- Expertise in Quality & Performance Engineering tools and technologies.
- Experience in building and operating enterprise-grade platforms with high availability, resiliency, performance, and scalability.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Broad exposure to architecture areas like integration, data, and security.
- Proven track record of driving strategic technology direction and realizing architecture vision.
- Bachelor's and/or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD/CT tools like Jenkins, Terraform, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira, SonarQube, AppDynamics, Selenium, Cucumber, etc.
- Experience implementing cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with container technologies (Kubernetes, AKS, Helm, Istio, etc.).
- Experience with middleware technologies like Kafka or API Management platforms.
- Experience building and implementing applications on the ServiceNow Platform.
This position has a starting salary range of $135,700 to $176,400 per year.
Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
