Principal Configuration Control Systems Engineer
Job Description
What You'll Get to Do:
You'll implement the program's configuration management strategy at the program/system level.
• Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures
• Lead and oversee configuration identification, control, auditing, status accounting, and verification processes
• Ensure that configuration control is applied to complex engineering changes within the project lifecycle
• Coordinate with various departments including engineering, production, and quality assurance to plan and manage product baselines and documentation
• Conduct configuration audits to verify conformance to requirements and facilitate the resolution of discrepancies
• Provide expert guidance and support on configuration management best practices to project teams.
• Maintain configuration management databases and tools, ensuring the integrity and security of configuration data
• Lead training and mentoring initiatives of other configuration analysts
• Prepare detailed reports and present findings to management and programs
• Engage daily with programs on matters of configuration and change management; conduct and lead configuration control boards
This position will serve on-site in the greater Baltimore, MD area.
This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers' requirements.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Configuration Control Systems Engineer:
• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, OR 1 year of experience with PhD
• Understanding and experience with configuration management standards and practices (e.g., ISO, ANSI, CMII)
• Proficient in using configuration management software tools and systems
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
• Current Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph prior to start
Preferred Qualifications:
• Current active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
• Experience in Teamcenter, CPLM PLM tool, Enovia, Windchill, and/or Costpoint or similar tools
• Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII-P, CMC)
• Domain knowledge of Configuration Management standards such as MIL-HDBK-61A &/or EIA-649B &/or EIA-649-1
• Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 requirements, standards, and compliance issues
Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
