We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Project Manager based in Cape Canaveral, FL at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Northrop Grumman Marine Systems-Cape Canaveral is renowned for its expertise in providing deployed systems support for the U.S./UK Navy TRIDENT II (D5) Fleet Ballistic Missile Programs.
The selected candidate will play a pivotal role within our Project Management Team, driving operational excellence through proactive engagement. We are looking for a collaborative professional who will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects, acting as a liaison between project management, planning, engineering, global supply chain, and business management. The role involves reviewing project statuses, budgets, schedules, and risks, ensuring all contractual requirements are fulfilled.
What you will get to do:
• Review and manage project statuses, budgets, and schedules, and prepare comprehensive status reports.
• Assess project issues and develop resolutions to achieve productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals.
• Monitoring project progress and facilitate intervention and problem-solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
• Perform roles related to Control Account Manager (CAM) and Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Coordinate project activities with functional organizations, vendors, or suppliers to meet project requirements.
• Serve as a primary contact for project activities, contributing to project status review sessions with internal management and customers to discuss cost, schedule, and performance.
• Establish project milestones, monitor adherence to processes and schedules, identify project risks, and manage risk mitigation strategies.
• Participate in the development of contract proposals and modifications.
• Support internal and customer meetings, including preparation of presentation materials, content generation, meeting attendance for on-site integration, action item tracking, and post-meeting follow-up.
Basic Qualifications for the Principal Project Manager:
• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience includes professional and/or military experience in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management.
• Prior experience working with cross-functional organizations such as Program Office, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Field Operations, etc.
• Control Account Manager (CAM) experience/certification.
• The ability to obtain a security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications for the Principal Project Manager:
• Experience in risk/issue/opportunities (RIO) management.
• Scheduling expertise.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
• Previous experience with the TRIDENT II Launcher Subsystem and Support Equipment.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
Salary Range: $78,700.00 - $118,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
