ABOUT THE ROLE: The Museum Program Coordinator will work directly with the Office of Mayor E. Denise supporting the Mayor’s vision for a permanent institution that highlights Cambridge’s diverse cultural and historical legacy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Administrative Support Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries from residents and stakeholders Schedule meetings, maintain calendars, and coordinate logistics Prepare basic correspondence, memos, and reports Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems Process forms, requests, and documentation with accuracy Program Support Support the development and establishment of the Cambridge Museum of History and Culture Will focus exclusively on advancing the museum initiative, including assisting with project planning, documentation, and public engagement efforts, conducting background research Assist with tracking program participation, applications, and outcomes Support compliance with reporting deadlines and documentation requirements Assist with community outreach initiatives and special events Provide clerical support for grants, projects, and department initiatives Customer & Public Service Serve as the point of contact for the museum initiative Provide courteous, professional assistance to the public Route service requests and inquiries to appropriate departments Maintain confidentiality of sensitive records and communications Coordination & Office Support Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners Assist leadership with ad hoc projects and administrative tasks Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong organizational and time-management skills Proficiency with computers and office software, including Microsoft Excel Clear written and verbal communication skills Professional customer service approach Ability to manage confidential information with discretion Attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
