Project Engineer – Hydro Modernization
POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Engineer acts as the engineering manager for design activities for the Hydro Modernization program. Projects include modernization and maintenance (retrofits), in the Georgia Power (GPC) and Alabama Power (APC) Hydro river systems. This role is responsible for managing the engineering scope, engineering budgets, engineering schedules, and serves as the main point of contact for engineering deliverables to the project manager. The Project Engineer also works with design disciplines to ensure adequate and qualified resources are assigned to the project, anticipating changes in project scope, budget, and schedule requirements, and developing/communicating mitigation plans for those changes. They also identify and communicate lessons learned and facilitate resolving engineering and vendor related issues.
