National Grid is hiring a Lead Project Manager (Electricity), Capital Project Delivery for Massachusetts. This is a Onsite Role - Must live within a commutable distance to Northbro, MA.
Job Purpose
We manage a non-complex portfolio of projects for the Electric Transmission and Substation jurisdiction. We maintain accurate forecasts and resourced schedules in our portfolios and ensure the overall capital budget is adhered to across all branches of operations, while enabling the execution of projects within your portfolio.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage a non-complex portfolio of projects from project inception through construction and closeout while implementing resource strategies to meet regulatory, budgetary, and jurisdictional goals for New England Distribution portfolio.
- Identify issues early in the lifecycle of each project and effectively troubleshoot the issues encountered (e.g. procurement/construction field issues) to ensure deadlines are met.
- Develop project schedules and perform accurate monthly schedule updates in Primavera P6 Professional (P6) for projects based on negotiated dates with project team contributors to meet customer in service dates.
- Keep internal and external departments informed of project requirements and schedules using appropriate communication methods (i.e. project team meetings).
- Track, report, and forecast project financials and milestones each month.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 3+ related project management experience preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgement to independently solve problems and resolve conflicts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with project management software including Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 preferred
- Ability to travel within the service territory is required.
- Valid driver's license required.
