The Project Manager oversees day-to-day execution to drive planned production. The Project Manager will function as an IPT lead, working with functional leaders and their staff to remove production roadblocks, drive cost reduction and quality improvements and ensure on-time delivery to our Customers.

The Project Manager of Military Aircraft Programs responsibilities include:
• Excellent leadership skills aligned with the company's values
• Integral part of manufacturing site matrix leadership team
• Participates in the annual long-range strategic planning process (LRSP)
• Drive technical excellence by driving program standards, enabling cross-functional support and reach across multiple NG sectors and divisions, effectively managing risk and opportunities, and delivering performance
• Oversee the continued execution of established program plan
• Directly influences internal production schedule and supply chain strategy by understanding customer demand and contract terms and conditions
• Provide overall leadership and direction to the internal functional team that include resolving conflict, reviewing performance, and initiating process improvement and corrective actions when necessary.
• Functions as a customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
• Suggests new business opportunities to the Program Manager and assists with conceptual plans that may lead to new business opportunities.
• Oversees cost reduction/continuous improvement initiatives
• Responsible for planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package
• Understands program financial targets and supports the Program Manager in achieving financial goals and forecasts
• Leads weekly IPT meetings with functional leaders and staff. Meetings are action-oriented and results driven
• Tracks engineering change requests to ensure timely proposal and incorporation of part configuration changes
• Supports Program Manager in new business proposal efforts
• Integral member of program risk, issue, and opportunity (RIO) board to identify program RIO's and accurately estimate and capture potential financial impacts
This role may be filled at a Project Manager (Level 2) or Principal Project Manager (Level 3) based on the qualifications outlined below.
Basic Qualifications:
Project Manager (Level 2)
• Bachelor's Degree and 5 years' experience in project and/or program management or a Master's degree and 3 years' experience in project and/or program management
• Experience leading projects
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (not required to obtain before hire)
Principal Project Manager (Level 3)
• Bachelor's Degree and 8 years' experience in project and/or program management or a Master's degree and 6 years' experience in project and/or program management
• Experience leading a team
• Experience managing change and execution in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (not required to obtain before hire)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree
• Prior Management / leadership experience
• Demonstrated understanding of program risk, opportunity and issue management process
• Strong ability to communicate complex issues and solutions in customer-facing and internal situations
• Knowledge and experience with the proposal process, capturing new business
Salary Range: $63,800.00 - $95,800.00Salary Range 2: $78,700.00 - $118,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
