Location: Placerville

Overview

We are seeking a Psychiatrist to join the team at the Telecare El Dorado County Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF), a 16-bed locked inpatient hospital providing acute psychiatric care to adults (18+) with serious mental illness. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment delivering high-impact care to a vulnerable population.

Both Independent Contractor and W-2 Employee options are available, offering flexibility based on your preferences.

Position Highlights

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
  • Provide medication management and ongoing clinical care
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and care coordination
Qualifications
  • MD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active or eligible for California medical license
  • DEA license (active or eligible)
  • Experience in inpatient or acute psychiatric settings preferred
  • Strong clinical and communication skills
Schedule
  • Full-time schedule
  • Specific shift structure to be discussed based on availability and facility needs
