Job Title: Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)
Location: Martinez, CA

Position Overview

A community-based behavioral health program is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide weekday vacation coverage in a Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). This is a short-term opportunity focused on delivering acute psychiatric care to children and adolescents in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric evaluations and assessments for children and adolescents in a CSU setting
  • Deliver crisis intervention and stabilization for acute behavioral health presentations
  • Manage medications and initiate appropriate treatment plans
  • Conduct risk assessments, including evaluation for involuntary holds as appropriate
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, nurses, and case managers
  • Participate in treatment planning and discharge coordination
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards
Schedule & Coverage
  • Weekday vacation coverage assignment
  • Monday Friday schedule
  • Daytime hours
  • Short-term coverage (specific dates to be provided)
  • No call required
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Fellowship training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry preferred
  • Active California medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA license required
  • Experience in acute care, CSU, emergency, or inpatient settings preferred
  • Strong comfort level with crisis intervention and high-acuity patients
