Job Description

Job Summary: The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible to assist the plants with purchasing related activities and is administrative in nature. They will support stakeholders within the outlined quoting and purchasing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Check and if necessary correct purchase order content to ensure it fulfils necessary standards and requirements (BOS, SOX, POS)
  • Support Approve Suppliers List adds and changes as necessary
  • Check purchase requisition / create purchase order when requested
  • Ensure requested products / services are in line with commodity strategies and Approved Suppliers list
  • Process and follow up purchase orders and approval process in ERP System
  • Send purchase orders to vendors
  • Support plants in local sourcing process – in line with commodity strategy and targets to limit supplier base
  • Support accounts payable with invoice reconciliation for plant etc.
  • For audits, responsible for support of plant team in providing purchasing information and support
  • Collect production scrap sheets from Production Supervisors and enter scrap data into ERP system
  • Works with material which may be confidential or important in nature.
  • Organizes and maintains files and records pertinent to departmental procedures.
  • Greet and assist visitors, directing them to the appropriate person or office.
  • Performs other receptionist job duties as needed.
  • Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS): Understand, apply and meet all function-related EHS requirements.
  • Product Safety: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
  • Compliance: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Compliance requirements
  • Information Security: Understand, apply and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Employee must have the ability to work additional hours and / or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time.
  • Ability to multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • 1 -3+ years of entry level coordinator experience or similar role
  • 1-3+ Years of Experience within the automotive industry preferred
  • Must be able and willing to work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college coursework or complete degree preferred in Finance or Supply Chain Management.
