Purpose Statement
The QA Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured meet the company's food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This position requires close attention to detail, adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and consistent monitoring of production lines and finished goods.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
- Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Conduct inspections and verifications to ensure compliance with food safety programs (HACCP,GMP, SSOP).
- Accurately document inspection results and communicate any deviations or non-conformances to the appropriate personnel.
- Monitor sanitation and housekeeping standards across production areas.
- Calibrate and verify testing equipment as required.
- Perform product sampling/sensory testing.
- Maintain accurate and organized QA records. Input checks in the system in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with production staff to promote a culture of quality and food safety
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in food science or related fieldpreferred but not required.
- PC skills including knowledge of Windows operating system, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- State Lab certification, if applicable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs safely and repeatedly as required.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the entire shift in a production environment.
- Work in varying conditions (cold, warm, humid, noisy).
- Hours may vary depending on staffing needs, but typically require a standard 8-hour shift with
- flexibility for overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules when necessary
