Department Summary

Bridgewater State University's School of Social Work offers the largest bachelor's in social work program in Massachusetts along with a popular master's in social work program - both of which are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. With a curriculum grounded in service learning, BSU's social work programs offer intensive fieldwork and mentoring by our accomplished faculty.

Position Summary

The School of Social Work is an innovative a department that aligns with the professions six core values with emphasis on those of service and social justice. In doing so, members of the faculty are often invited to participate in research projects with agencies serving the community. One such project involves an exploration of the Plymouth County DA Comfort Dogs Program. This research project encompasses all stages of a research project and requires the support of a research assistant.

Essential Duties

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

* Locate, obtain, review, and analyze existing literature on the animal assisted interventions* Identify data collection tools.* Participate in sample recruitment.* Participate in informed consent process.* Participate in data collection, analysis and document creation.* Provide administrative support for various tasks involved in research project including but not limited to telephone, email, virtual communication, focus group meetings, survey distribution, and document preparation as needed.

Required Qualifications

* Masters Degree or current enrollment in a graduate program.* Energy, enthusiasm, self-direction, patience, and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse student/faculty/staff/community population.* Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information.* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadline
