Our Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing team is looking for a dedicated Clinical Leader to help elevate patient care and support an incredible group of specialized nurses. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday role (40 hrs/week) with an outstanding benefits package.

Summary:
The Clinical Leader for the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing team plays a crucial role in driving clinical excellence, fostering a supportive team environment, and enhancing the quality of care for patients with wound, ostomy, and continence needs. This position functions as an expert practitioner and leader in nursing, overseeing the work of a team dedicated to providing specialized care, education, and quality improvement. Supports the function of the Wound Ostomy Nurse (WOCN) directly as well as through delegation and supervision in order to effectively meet the needs of patient and the organization. 


Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Nursing Practice: Demonstrates advanced clinical skills in CWOCN care, serves as a resource and consultant for teammates managing complex patients, and facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration in care planning and prioritization.
2. Leadership, Supervision, and HR Management: Create and promote an environment conducive to recruitment and retention by modeling effective feedback behaviors and supporting teammate engagement. They provide input to management on hiring, promotion, transfer, and termination decisions, assist the PSM in delivering performance feedback and setting professional goals, and collaborate on clinical onboarding and professional development for new teammates. Additionally, they ensure appropriate prioritization of patient care, support Wound Ostomy Resource Nurses in achieving WOCN certification, and foster team growth.
3. Education and Professional Development: Work with Wound Ostomy teammates, nursing education, nurse leaders, and interdisciplinary clinicians to deliver educational programs and resources, participate in gap analysis and competency planning, and maintain responsibility for their own professional growth, including current certification in their clinical specialty or Nursing Professional Development.
4. Operational and Fiscal Management: Establish standards of excellence, ensure consistent implementation, collaborate on program development and fiscal planning, manage staffing and resources appropriately, and assist in setting budgetary goals and revenue strategies.
5. Research and Performance Improvement, they guide and evaluate research relevant to WOCN practice, lead and support initiatives to improve patient safety and quality care, share knowledge through publications and presentations, and develop creative approaches to achieve organizational goals.

Education Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Current Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (CWOCN) certification required.
● Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
● Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Two (2) years of professional nursing experience, including at least one year specializing in wound and ostomy care, preferably in a tertiary care setting.
● Clinical education or leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Expert-level assessment and clinical intervention skills in Wound and Ostomy care.
