Job Description

Scientific Sales Specialist

Summary

Revvity will be seeking highly motivated, technically accomplished Scientific Sales Specialists to drive growth of our Life Sciences reagent portfolio across defined territories in 2027. This role combines scientific credibility with consultative selling: deeply understanding customer needs and pain points, advocating the best solutions. The successful candidate will engage scientists, assay developers, translational researchers, and drug discovery leaders while executing the prospecting, pipeline management, and territory planning expected of a top-performing commercial professional.

Individuals in this role will serve as a trusted scientific advisor to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and research customers, applying deep knowledge of assay development, cell signaling, biomarker analysis, drug discovery workflows, and screening applications. They will ask insightful technical questions, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and translate complex scientific needs into differentiated solutions that advance customer research and drive sustainable business growth. We are reviewing resumes now for planned growth in early 2027 and encourage interested candidates to apply.

What You'll Do

Drive Commercial Growth

  • Own and execute territory business plans to consistently deliver and exceed revenue and growth targets.
  • Prospect aggressively to identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, and academic research accounts.
  • Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline through strategic account targeting, lead generation, networking, referrals, and customer outreach activities.
  • Develop and execute account growth strategies that expand penetration within existing customers while securing new business opportunities.
  • Understand customers' broader scientific workflows to identify adjacent applications and expand adoption across additional targets, programs, laboratories, and sites.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, opportunity management, and sales activity records within CRM systems.
  • Effectively navigate complex buying processes involving scientists, laboratory managers, procurement, sourcing teams, and executive stakeholders.

Serve as a Scientific Consultant

  • Engage directly with researchers to understand therapeutic areas, biological pathways, experimental objectives, assay challenges, and workflow requirements.
  • Consult customers on assay development, optimization, validation, and implementation strategies using Revvity technologies.
  • Translate scientific needs into tailored technical solutions that accelerate customer research and drug discovery programs.
  • Create scientific conviction around new and unfamiliar technologies, overcome technical inertia and incumbent methods, and guide customers through evaluation, validation, implementation, and adoption.
  • Position Revvity's immunoassay technologies against competitive platforms by articulating technical advantages, application fit, performance benefits, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Conduct high-level scientific discussions around cell signaling, protein quantification, biomarker detection, target engagement, screening, pharmacology, immunology, oncology, and related applications.
  • Provide credible technical guidance and recommendations while partnering with internal scientists, field support teams, and product management resources when necessary.
  • Anticipate customer objections and confidently address scientific, operational, and competitive concerns using data-driven and consultative approaches.

Build Scientific Relationships & Market Presence

  • Establish trusted relationships with principal investigators, assay development scientists, drug discovery teams, translational researchers, screening groups, and R&D leadership.
  • Deliver compelling scientific presentations, seminars, workshops, and product demonstrations to both small research groups and larger organizational audiences.
  • Represent Revvity at scientific conferences, industry events, user meetings, and customer workshops.
  • Gather customer insights, and competitive information to help shape commercial strategy and product positioning.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by identifying emerging scientific trends, unmet needs, and new growth opportunities.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science or Natural Science disciplines.
  • 3+ years of successful sales experience within life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics, laboratory tools, reagents, instrumentation, or related scientific markets.
  • 3+ years of experience with CRM platforms and digital selling tools to manage customer engagement, opportunity progression, forecasting, and territory execution.

Preferred qualifications

  • PhD, MS, or equivalent advanced scientific training in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, Biotechnology, or a relevant life science discipline.
  • Demonstrated success prospecting, generating new opportunities, and achieving or exceeding commercial performance targets.
  • Strong consultative selling and account management skills with experience navigating complex customer organizations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both scientific and business audiences.
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role, prioritize activity across a defined geographic territory, and maintain consistent customer coverage.
  • Deep understanding of drug discovery and development workflows within pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with assay development, assay optimization, cell-based assays, protein detection, biomarker analysis, screening, or translational research applications.
  • Experience supporting or selling advanced research technologies, including homogeneous assays, cell signaling assays, immunoassays, high-throughput screening solutions, or related platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in high-level scientific discussions and influence technical decision-making with researchers and scientific leaders.
