Role Overview:
Development Lead - AWS, Mainframe and Varicent Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) Developer / Administrator

What You'll Do:
We are seeking an experienced Development Lead to join our engineering team, responsible for leading the design, development, and modernization of mission-critical applications within the Agent Compensation and Insurance domain. This role requires deep expertise across mainframe technologies, AWS cloud platforms, and Varicent, along with strong leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between legacy and modern systems, driving technical direction, mentoring teams, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business objectives.

What You'll Bring:
* Lead design and development of COBOL-based mainframe and distributed applications
* Provide technical leadership across mainframe, AWS, and Varicent platforms
* Drive modernization initiatives including cloud integration and API enablement
* Collaborate with architecture, business, and offshore development teams
* Oversee system integration between legacy and modern platforms
* Ensure high-quality delivery across the SDLC
* Troubleshoot critical production issues and guide resolution efforts
* Mentor developers and enforce best practices
* Participate in architecture and design reviews
* Ensure adherence to enterprise standards and governance
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
* At least 10 years of software development experience, including a minimum of 2 years working with Varicent Incentive Compensation Management (ICM).
* Proven experience in a technical leadership or lead developer role
* Strong background in financial services or insurance systems
* Experience managing or collaborating with offshore teams
* Demonstrated experience in the insurance domain, with a strong understanding of insurance terminology, particularly in Life Insurance.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$111,500-$159,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
