Senior Associate (Insights & Analytics)

Location Designation:Hybrid - 1 day per week

New York Life is seeking a highly qualified individual to join the Insights & Analytics team within the Purchase Experience (PX) Value Stream. The Insights & Analytics team is responsible for spearheading the development of integrated financial projections regarding various projects and initiatives across PX and for identifying and evaluating the resulting benefits, to inform initiative business cases and ongoing tracking for senior management. This position will be a key player in gathering and analyzing information and assumptions needed to support the projections and in delivering actionable insights and results to various stakeholders.

This position will be an integral part of the Insights & Analytics team and will work with colleagues across functional and organizational lines. The position requires someone with strong financial and analytical experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the capability to effectively work collaboratively with others, and an independent drive to execute on both day-to-day priorities and longer-term goals.


Responsibilities:
- Develop, refine, and update multi-year cost-benefit analyses (CBAs) for various projects and initiatives of the purchase experience, including new business and underwriting modernization
- Coordinate and integrate additions and updates from business partners and other contributors while owning the master version and firmly maintaining version control
- Research and develop other models as needed relating to business operations linked to CBAs, such as volume or staffing models
- Clearly and concisely articulate in written and verbal communication the findings of the analysis performed
- Prepare high-quality discussion material for Capital Investment Committee (CIC), governance meetings, and management reports
- Financial tracking (program, project, initiative level), reporting; in collaboration with Finance team
- Develop analytics and discussion materials related to variable BAU expenses, such as requirements costs
- Maintain and update projection models supportingvariable BAU expenses budgeting
- Expected to gain a thorough understanding of the business


Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree - Statistics, Math, Data Science, Analytics
- 3-5 years of experience
- Highly developed financial modeling and analytics skills
- Can translate real world business problems into efficient models and interpret the results
- Experience working with Underwriting data and a familiarity with Insurance products
- Understands the reliance of work product on assumptions and can make assumption recommendations
- Ability to explore granular data to understand and attribute changes seen in high level metrics
- Excellent execution and time management skills, ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
- Open to new ideas and can deal with ambiguity
- Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audience
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Tableau preferred

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$121,000-$172,500

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
