Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Back-End Software Engineer to join our Signals Software team in building the next generation of our cloud notebook application. You will play a key role in shaping the back-end architecture and development of our cloud-based product, transforming business requirements into a seamless, intuitive, and powerful tool for the scientific community.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional team members on setting priorities, refining specifications, and implementing new features.
Develop high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code that meets business needs.
Design and implement secure, scalable, and performant APIs and services to support our cloud notebook product.
Continuously build and enhance impactful features that delight users and elevate the product's capabilities.
Leverage cloud services and technologies to ensure optimal application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Java development.
2+ years experience in building Web Services and RESTful APIs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience with Vert.x and Reactive Programming.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub).
Practical experience working with JDBC in transactional applications (preferably with PostgreSQL).
Solid understanding of performance optimization for database queries and data manipulation (inserts/updates).
Proven ability to work effectively in Agile development environments, applying structured methodologies for design, development, and testing.
Strong emphasis on teamwork with the ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to a collective effort.
A sense of ownership, a strong work ethic, and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
Creative problem-solving skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Life sciences experience is a plus, but not required.
