Job Summary

The core functions of the Senior Community Engagement Representative are to identify, build, and foster strategic partnerships that drive opportunities to generate membership leads/referrals; educate the community on product benefits to priority stakeholders, members, and prospective members; and assist in market and competitive analysis. This position will support the manager and team lead with the development, implementation, and execution of strategic community outreach plans and partnership proposals, among other responsibilities. This position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing value-based community partnerships with stakeholders (community-based organizations, providers, and advocacy groups). This individual will enhance referral channels in the community through relationship building and education of key community influencers (enrollment assisters at health centers, hospitals, and other community-based organizations) on Point32Health suite of product offerings, research new business opportunities, and ultimately support membership growth efforts.

The Senior Community Engagement Representative works closely with internal and external stakeholders to translate business objectives into specific initiatives, outreach plans and activities. This individual will take the lead on sharing regular feedback regarding marketing collateral and other marketing activities to the marketing and communications team and partner with them on the development of new materials.

The Senior Community Engagement Representative will attend community events and high-profile networking events with community leaders, which may fall on a weekend, early morning, or after business hours.

Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic community outreach plans and partnership proposals. Identify innovative approaches to infiltrate target demographics within the priority markets we serve.
  • Support membership growth objectives by generating membership leads through outreach and community events and facilitate follow-up with appropriate internal teams nurturing. Identify, evaluate, and implement high-value community partnership leads that support brand awareness and membership growth & retention efforts.
  • Develop & maintain relationships with community-based organizations (CBOs) and provider organizations (hospitals, community health centers), including staff at all levels, from front line staff to CEOs, Presidents, and Executive Directors.
  • Educate key community stakeholders, including members and prospective members, on health insurance programs and benefits in accordance with current approved communications. Serve as a subject matter expert on product offerings.
  • Attend community and networking events, which may fall in the early morning, after work hours, or on weekends.
  • Participate in external committees and cross-functional internal project teams. Share relevant findings within community engagement team.

Meet or exceed annual outreach benchmark and maintain accurate database of community activities & results and other administrative duties.

Qualifications – what you need to perform the job

Education, Certification and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience (minimum years required):

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in community outreach and relationship building required.
  • Experience networking/generating leads preferred.

Skill Requirements

  • Bilingual or ability to interact with multicultural audiences.
  • Prior community outreach experience (relationship development with community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, providers, etc.)
  • Public speaking and comfortable with delivering presentations to large and small groups of people.
  • Must be articulate, have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be highly motivated.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to balance many components of job.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as cooperately within a team, with minimal direction while openly communicating back to management and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Professionalism is a must and high comfort level working with executives as well as front line staff.
  • Exercise outstanding judgment and possess an innate ability to navigate politically-sensitive situations.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, with an aptitude for conflict resolution.
  • High degree of planning, problem solving, and good analytical skills required.
  • Initiative and judgment required to successfully fulfill all job functions of multi-faceted position with minimal supervision.
  • Computer Skills: Must be proficient in use of the internet, web-based applications and Microsoft Office suite of products.

Working Conditions and Additional Requirements (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel):

  • Works 80% of the time on the road (New England region, primarily MA), and 20% of the time in the office with a minimum combined 40-hour work week, including evenings, weekends, or early morning.
  • Required to have a reliable vehicle and be able to drive and carry heavy materials to appointments and special events.
  • Demands a very high energy and patience level and must be able to stand for up to 4-6 hours at events.
