Senior Developer - Electronic Trading
Client: Big 5 Bank
Terms: 6-month Contract (rolling to 2 years)
Location: Downtown Toronto, 1-2 days a week in office

Project:
Design, develop, and enhance electronic trading platforms, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. Collaborate with sales, trading, and business analysts to implement new features aligned with the product roadmap. Optimize workflows and integrate pricing, execution, and risk controls into low-latency environments. These electronic trading and credit systems will be built in-house, and are replacing current tools that the front-office is utilizing.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop robust, scalable software solutions for Electronic trading systems.
- Devise and implement efficient algorithms and data structures tailored to low-latency environments.
- Create comprehensive test cases to ensure software stability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, design, and implement system enhancements.
- Communicate effectively with operations teams regarding new features and strategy behaviors.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, performing root-cause analysis independently.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with minimal guidance.
Key Qualifications:
- 8+ years experience as a Developer or Software Engineer
- Strong programming skills in Java and/or C#/.NET
- 5+ years experience with electronic trading systems and capital markets
- Knowledge of capital markets products such as Fixed Income and Credit Products
- Knowledge of highly scalable and low-latency architectures
- Understanding of functional programming, and building applications from scratch
