Job Description
The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C., and Chicago. The AHA offers a flexible hybrid work schedule of three days in the office and two days working remotely.
We are seeking a Sr. Director for our Washington DC office. Responsible for development, planning, execution and day-to-day management of financial, operational and communications plans to ensure alignment with the strategic goals of the Health Outcomes & Care Transformation (HOCT) group and the American Hospital Association (AHA). Lead cross-functional operational and tactical functions, ensuring high quality, efficient and effective coordination across AHA teams collaborating on strategic initiatives.Essential Functions
- Collaborate with Senior Vice President and Senior Director to develop and deliver thought-leadership that provides insights, identifies priorities and shapes HOCT initiatives that support AHA members and external audiences including major initiatives such as the Economic Impact of Health Disparities, Healthier Together conference and the custom innovation summits.
- Direct day-to-day team operations, to include effective planning, efficient workflow processes, accurate financial management and timely completion of functions.
- Lead integration and coordination of efforts among HOCT team and across other AHA business units to produce optimal workflow and results.
- Lead annual budgeting process and manage ongoing financial operations, including monthly forecasting, variance analysis, financial memos, contract/vendor oversight and fiscal stewardship.
- Lead end-to-end advisory council management, including agenda planning, meeting execution, stakeholder coordination, material development, follow-up actions, member onboarding/evaluations and planning for future programming.
- Collaborate and partner with internal AHA teams and external stakeholders to support the HOCT and the AHA strategic goals, to including maintaining relationships, conducting exploratory meetings and ensuring high-quality execution of external speaking engagements and partnerships.
- Manage the design, planning and execution of team retreat to strengthen team engagement and enhance collaboration.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
