Job Title: Senior Documentation Consultant

Location: Birmingham, AL

Duration: 6-month contract

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Documentation Consultant to lead the development and formalization of critical operational processes for a Fortune 500 client. This resource will work closely with client Stakeholders to build a backlog list/prioritization plan and then oversee a team of 1-2 resources who will help execute this plan. We are looking for a hands-on Documentation Consultant who is willing to lead this team but also document procedures in order to hit the deadline to get all procedures documented before end of year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Documentation & Development
  • Identify undocumented workflows and create clear, standardized documentation
  • Map out process flows involving multiple stakeholders including supply chain agents, legal teams, and field divisions
  • Define “end-of-life” contract handling, renewal, and extension protocols
  • Contract Services & Vendor Management
  • Document procedures for managing power delivery, distribution, and vegetation management contracts
  • Outline RFP initiation processes for both large-scale and localized contracts (e.g., overhead line work, landscaping)
  • Document contract management processes for working in Maximo
  • Storm Response & Invoicing
  • Capture detailed workflows for emergency contractor engagement and storm-related invoicing
  • Reporting & Compliance
  • Assist in documenting the quarterly supplier diversity reporting process
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with regulatory and internal compliance standards

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in process documentation and technical writing
    • Familiarity with Maximo or similar enterprise asset management systems.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience with utility, energy, or infrastructure sectors is a plus
