Title: Sr Information Security Engineer

Location: 100% Remote (USA)

Direct Hire - Perm Position

Pay: $130,000 - $150,000 (+10% STI bonus applied each March)


Job Details:

In this role you will be part of a team that is responsible for the architecture, engineering, deployment and maintenance of network technology. You will also be working with the software development team to plan and support the deployment of software applications.

Engineers are expected to identify and design solutions for issues involving: new features, interoperability, vulnerability, system limits and constraints facing the platforms and products. In addition, engineers are responsible to evaluate current capabilities and predict future needs, then work with internal stakeholders, vendors and peers to anticipate, define, and pursue these capabilities.

A successful engineer is a strong communicator and relationship builder, who uses soft skills to persuade stakeholders to: achieve consensus, obtain commitment, and take action. The engineer is a de-facto leader in the organization and is committed to directly mentoring junior engineers and technicians, while consistently demonstrating behaviors aligned with our core values.


Responsibilities:

Research, evaluate, engineer, develop, troubleshoot and support solutions and infrastructure for network deployments.

Defines and executes repeatable test procedures, creation of technical documentation and delivery of standards for implementation.

Assess operational business processes to ensure security is appropriately integrated.

Directly engages in advanced troubleshooting and delivery with stakeholders.

Assess potential risks with new applications and products and provide security requirements and recommendations for risk mitigation to help the business succeed with their projects.

Consult as security subject matter expert with network architects, engineers, and others on solutions to security problems.

Ensure reports and findings are delivered in a timely and appropriate manner to management, operations and executive leadership.

Recommend new security policy, standards, best practices, and system configuration standards. Consult with internal clients on security topics and policy interpretation.

Coordinate activities across multiple departments and business units.


Requirements:

  • Must have Active TS clearance with current SSBI/T5R investigation & CI Polygraph.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of progressively expanding responsibilities and experience in networking, technology management, or security operations.
  • Must have broad technical knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
  • Proven experience with network design, configuring and troubleshooting of routed and switched networks, TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLAN, IPSec, VPN, and Firewalls.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, etc.
  • Background in system, network, or security admin/engineering on Unix.
