ServiceNow Service Portal DeveloperLocation: Fully remote. Client is in Homewood, AL
Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire
Industry: healthcare
Candidates must be able to work without sponsorship now or in the future.
There are absolutely no C2C options for this permanent, direct hire role.
Reporting to the ServiceNow Platform Manager, the ServiceNow Service Portal Developer will collaborate with teams to understand their needs, translate those needs into technical specifications, and then design, develop, test, and deploy code for user-friendly Portal experiences.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy new Service Portal solutions and enhancements, including managing bi-annual upgrades to ensure the platform remains up-to-date and optimized
- Handle all aspects of the development process, from gathering requirements and designing solutions to testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Understand business needs and translate them into effective ServiceNow Service Portal solutions.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for ServiceNow configurations and customizations.
- Develop and publish content, banners, and widgets for Service Portal
- Ensure code quality through code reviews and adherence to coding standards.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, diagnose problems, and provide solutions for optimal platform performance.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest ServiceNow features and functionalities.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other team members.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience developing on the ServiceNow platform and a minimum of 3 years Service Portal experience is required.
- Possesses a strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform, its core functionality, and best practices for developing and maintaining Service Portal solutions.
- ServiceNow Employee Central development experience
- Experienced creating and maintaining engaging content for the Service Portal, such as banners, widgets, and topic pages, to ensure employees can easily access the information and services they need.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A passion for continuous learning
