Social Media Content Creator

Position Overview
Our client, an adult beverage brand, is looking for a Social Content Creator to join their team on a full-time freelance basis starting in early January. This role is fully ONSITE in San Diego, CA, 40 hours per week in an ongoing capacity.

In this role, the Social Content Creator will be working in a fast-paced, agency-like setting, creating 1-2 pieces of short-form content per day for the company's Instagram and TikTok accounts. You'll be creating and executing social media marketing content using knowledge of consumer behavior, industry trends, and competitive insights. You'll develop strategic social media content to drive brand storytelling, engagement, and impressions aligned with business objectives. This position is accountable for providing consistent and ongoing, creative content via the National and local digital channels. The Social Media Content Creator works alongside the Digital Strategist, Digital Content Creator & relevant teams to also identify and evaluate trends, culturally relevant moments, digital technologies, and uses analytics tools to better optimize social promotion. You'll be provided an Osmo camera, iPad, and laptop for content capture and creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with local and national teams to develop concepts for a full-year digital strategy, a monthly content calendar, support platform posting logistics to align with overarching marketing plans alongside the Digital Strategist.
  • Creating digital content, primarily but not limited to Instagram reels and story graphics, featuring products + related promotional content while following social media best practices and current trends to increase visibility and engagement.
  • Ingest, organize, catalog, and manage marketing-approved image assets to ensure they are current and readily available for creative use.
  • Work within Canva and social media in-platform editing software to add promotional graphic elements, videos, text, music in compliance with current alcohol & beverage legal parameters, marketing strategy, and more.
  • Combine creative storytelling skills and data-informed strategy to create and execute content.
  • Support local + national workstreams for creative productions, including but not limited to photoshoots, video shoots, pre-production planning and coordination, styling, and post-production.
  • Support content capture when relevant for events, activations, and experiential projects.
  • Establish and deliver on agreed-upon social media content creation KPIs
  • Develop deep understanding and ownership of brand voice and product knowledge as it is represented through organic content posts for local, regional, and national targets.
  • Support additional execution of digital assets for channels as needed, including creative & content development, media optimization, CRM programs, ecommerce initiatives, and tracking performance/establishing.
  • Embrace and fulfill the core values and culture of the brand

Qualifications

  • At least 2+ years of content creation and capture experience in an agency or similarly fast-paced setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with specific experience in social media trending formats and modern marketing tactics.
  • Confident interaction with multiple team members + stakeholders professionally and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional understanding of managing social media platforms from a brand perspective.
  • Highly engaged, ambitious, with a can-do attitude.
  • Understanding and experience working with social media scheduling and analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, algorithms, and up-and-coming platforms.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and/or in a diverse team environment.
  • Strong customer service skills, including a sense of urgency, compassion, and a desire to understand.
  • The capability of making sound decisions and quickly understanding new information and situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a varied workload.
  • Online research skills with the ability to follow and track data relevant to the brand and consumer.
  • Exceptional work ethic, with a focused passion for the spirits industry. Working knowledge of spirits preferred.
  • Have a keen eye for what makes good content, a passion for storytelling, and a strong creative drive
  • 2+ years of experience in a marketing-related position (experience in copywriting for marketing purposes a plus).
  • Beverage industry or alcohol industry experience (preferred).
