So, if you want to inspire a brighter work day for everyone, including yourself, you’ve found a match in Workday, and we hope to be a match for you too.

About the Team

Within the CDT organization, you will be focused on building tools that allow implementers and customers to have more insight into the most complex changes that impact their deployment. As we continue to grow and evolve our systems to meet customer demands, we are looking for a Software Engineer to help drive the development and future of CDT platform and tools.

About the Role

This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native).

You will be working with Product Management, engineers and customer teams to gather requirements, plan feature delivery and deliver on designs and implementation. You’ll be a part of an agile software team to ensure engineering principles and quality are a core component of feature delivery. Supply ideas for continually improving the designs and scalability of the products and services delivered.

Responsibilities include the day-to-day agile activities of the team and actively supervising delivery and metrics for the team. You will work on designing, implementing and leading all aspects of our tool portfolio where performance and resiliency will be essential.

About You

  • This role may require a security clearance at the TS/SCI w/CI Poly level. Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. An active TS/SCI w/CI Poly is preferred.

Other Qualifications:

  • Adept at working with and in the U.S. Government with unique government requirements, processes, and regulations to include tailored software delivery and integration with government systems and processes.
  • 5 years experience with management methodologies for teams proficient in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud-native development practices.
  • 5 years experience in leadership principles for teams with expertise in microservices architecture, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and secure DevSecOps workflows.
  • Understanding of development lifecycles for projects utilizing programming languages and frameworks like Python, Go, Java, TypeScript/Node.js, .NET Core, React, and modern cloud frameworks such as AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, and Kubernetes operators.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process!
