Job Description

Medline is looking for a driven business systems analyst with high learning agility and experience implementing warehouse automation such as Goods to Person, Pick/Put to Light, and Sortation. This individual will leverage strong communication skills and technical expertise to integrate automated solutions into our logistics landscape. This role requires collaboration with Software developers, automation vendors, business partners, Operations and IT leaders, and end-users. Major Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate advanced expertise in warehouse management functionalities and configurations, including core areas like picking, packing, receiving, shipping, and inventory management.

  • Present innovative solutions tailored to meet specific requests and recommend optimal approaches based on thorough coverage of requirements and efficiency.

  • Conduct in-depth functional analysis to design solutions, assessing a range of options such as new software development, configuring existing systems, business process redesign, evaluating new packages or systems, or a blend of these approaches.

  • Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with users and management to accurately translate business needs into system requirements.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for addressing issues and enhancements within your designated product and functional area.

  • Deliver clear, detailed software requirements to developers and provide ongoing support and clarification throughout the development process.

  • Manage implementation plans for deploying system enhancements or new software solutions into production, ensuring a smooth transition.

  • Champion continuous improvement within the team by leveraging agile and DevOps methodologies to enhance processes.

  • Emphasize quality at every stage of software development, from requirements gathering and design to testing and deployment.

  • Identify cross-domain project interdependencies, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams, including senior leaders and executives.

  • Research available technologies and solutions independently, with minimal oversight. Take ownership of deliverables, enhancing existing processes and setting standards for team outputs. Prioritize key assignments and ad-hoc tasks for junior team members and offer constructive feedback as needed.

  • Thoroughly investigate and document business requirements from partners, facilitating detailed discussions and conducting workflow analyses.

  • Create workflow charts, diagrams, and system specifications. Recommend process enhancements or technological solutions that improve efficiency and optimize existing resources.

  • Translate business requirements into actionable functional designs, collaborating with developers and engineers on technical solutions.

  • Perform configuration and implementation tasks, including prototyping, system configuration, and process documentation.

  • Work with large datasets to create meaningful reports and dashboards, leveraging critical problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills to drive organizational change.

  • Ensure robust testing and validation of solutions before production implementation, developing test plans and results documentation with minimal input from management.

  • Collaborate with business partners to communicate and, where necessary, provide training on process and system changes, ensuring users are fully informed and prepared for any updates.

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of business systems analyst experience and working with cross-functional teams

  • 3+ years of experience working with logistics/WMS/TMS systems - preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering or similar.

  • Technical acumen in understanding Oracle data bases, reading Java code.

  • High learning agility. Position will often require learning new areas of business and new software.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Curiosity to dig into how systems work and be hands on throughout the development life cycle

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects - work prioritization, planning and task delegation

  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with various integration protocols such as XML, JSON, SOAP, REST, API

  • Experience with implementing or supporting automated material handling systems

  • Experience in an operations/distribution environment. Engineering or Systems experience.

  • Solid understanding of scrum and agile principles

  • Proficient in reading and/or writing SQL

  • Experience with DevOps tools (ie. Jira, Zephyr, Splunk, SonarQube, etc)

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$110,240.00 - $165,360.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
