Job Description

Be part of MODEM ASIC team responsible for designing and validating the digital chip SOCs for communications via Low Earth Orbit satellites and gateways. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a groundbreaking wireless solution with few legacy constraints.


The team works with customer requirements and wireless system teams to design and validate modems, high-speed interfaces, embedded processors, and DSP solutions in latest CMOS generation technologies. We are looking for contributions in the Austin lab to support the Validation of our MODEM Silicon.


In this role you will:

  • Develop and use infrastructure for running tests and metrics collection on silicon
  • Execute validation tests and characterization activities.
  • Develop and execute post-silicon tests (to provided plan) by running SW on silicon, leveraging simulation tests if applicable.
  • Be responsible for debug support for complex sightings, booting, silicon bring-up and device characterization across different PVT corners.
  • Test new versions of silicon against previous versions.
  • Develop C programming and Python scripts for testing infrastructure and data analysis.
  • Support the ASIC and downstream software teams Data collection, Documentation and Triaging.
  • Contribute to future silicon development with learnings and optimizations from silicon based debug activities
  • Use characterization tools (e.g., probes).
  • Collaborate with designers to debug issues and drive silicon-level debugging.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with Post Silicon characterization
  • Experience with High Speed Interfaces (SerDes, IO)
  • Experience with silicon bring-up and debug of SOC (With ARM CPU)
  • Experience with lab equipment for high speed IO testing
  • Hands on experience using a JTAG debugger e.g. T32 Lauterbach
  • API based programming to automate measurements and manage test suites is preferred
  • Experience with Board design and layout involving High Speed interfaces
  • Prefer Electrical Engineering background and at least 5 years of experience
