Sr. Installation EngineerInterested candidates are required to have an active Top Secret clearance at minimum to be considered
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Direct-hire permanent position
Pay: $110-115K
Position Summary:The Senior Engineer will lead and participate in multiple team environments and to provide independent efforts to all aspects of system integration including design, needs analysis, design review, testing, implementation, and validation. As a highly technical and hands-on position, the Senior Engineer will be responsible for systems in support of commercial managed security services platforms addressing .gov and critical infrastructure protection missions.
Responsibilities
- Conducts surveys to determine ISP build requirements for incorporation in proposals
- Creates Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for ISP construction projects including labor estimates, material estimates, Other Direct Charges, Travel, etc
- Directly interfaces with Government customers, vendors, subcontractors, and other company groups
- Produces Engineering Design Packages (EDPs) or other documents for ISP installations
- Designs, fabricates, modifies, and evaluates equipment and devices
- Design site cable tray systems, cable paths and conveyances
- Develop estimates for project schedules and budget
- Assists with installation of metro and wide area network equipment
- Provides engineering assistance for ISP and OSP installation teams
- Coordinates subcontractors, materials, tools and equipment to complete projects on schedule and within budget
- Understands and adheres to Federal, customer site and company policies and practices
- Performs testing of DS-1, DS-3, SONET, and Optical Ethernet circuits using Bit Error Rate Testers, OTDRs, Optical Powers Meters and other optical test equipment
- Updates network drawings using AUTOCAD, MS Visio and other software-based applications
- Position requires moderate travel
- Degree: bachelors (some flex- open to seeing candidates without if strong)
- Years of Experience: 5 (some flex- open to seeing lower if strong)
- Clearance requirement: TS (SCI is heavily preferred)
- Experience with: Deployment and installation, software upgrades, routing maps (networking)- ethernet, data transport layer 1 and 2 transport, switches and routers
- Experience with SONET, DWDM, Ethernet equipment and networks required
- Knowledge of Lucent, Ciena/Nortel, Infinera, and Cisco equipment desirable (nice to haveCiana 6500 platform)
