Job Description

The Senior Manager, Contract Development will serve as a key member of the Market Access & Reimbursement Contract Development team focused on pre-deal evaluation and contracting aligned to Brand strategies across commercial and government payer channels. This role plays a critical part in evaluating value-based and traditional contracting frameworks across Managed Care and Government channels.

The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical and financial acumen with an understanding of payer dynamics and contract structures. They will collaborate closely with Value Access, Legal, Finance, Government Pricing, and Brand Teams to evaluate contract scenarios that align with brand access goals, compliance, and optimize financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Deal Evaluation & Strategy

  • Play a key role in pre-deal financial modeling and impact analysis to assess potential contract terms, rebate structures, and deal scenarios.
  • Work with MA&R insights to track contract performance relative to pre-deal expectations
  • Develop net revenue and gross-to-net impact assessments for proposed deals and partner with Finance and Value Access teams to incorporate into forecasts
  • Present deal evaluations, risks, and recommendations to internal governance and contract review committees.

Contract Development & Execution

  • Draft deal structures, offer terms, and language to support negotiations with payers, PBMs, and other market access stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment between financial, legal, and compliance requirements in all contract proposals.
  • Collaborate with Legal on the redlining, approval, and execution of agreements.
  • Maintain consistent documentation and rationale for contract decisions, including relevant scenario modeling.

Governance & Compliance

  • Support internal audit and compliance reviews by documenting contract rationales, modeling assumptions, and internal communications.
  • Participate in internal reviews and governance processes to gain alignment on pricing and contracting strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Public Health, Economics, or related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, etc.) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with 3+ years focused on market access, contracting, or pricing.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. payer landscape, including commercial and government segments.
  • Proven experience in financial modeling, deal evaluation, and translating strategy into executable contract terms.
  • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with forecasting and modeling tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience influencing cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in M within the pharmaceutical industry.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree Required
Master's Degree Preferred (MBA, MHA, or equivalent)

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $145,000.00-$194,000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
