Job Description:
Role Title: Remote Sr. Planning Engineer - MSTRole Overview:The Sr. Planning Engineer is responsible for managing capacity, growth, and replacement planning for critical infrastructure across the network. This role requires strong knowledge of mechanical systems, AC distribution, UPS, STS, generators, and site civil activities, particularly as they apply to telecommunications facilities. The engineer will forecast and analyze critical systems growth, initiate capacity triggers, and develop augmentation plans to support network expansion.
Key Responsibilities:- Initiate infrastructure projects using the most practical, cost-effective, and scalable solutions.
- Perform engineering design, research, and development for new infrastructure projects, including equipment evaluation and system modifications.
- Analyze complex systems and network environments to plan, design, and size critical infrastructure that meets operational and budgetary requirements.
- Lead or support the acquisition and implementation of hardware, software, and subcontractor services.
- Interpret and work with complex electrical one-lines, mechanical, structural, architectural, and piping drawings.
- Utilize AutoCAD to create and update technical drawings, including floor plans and electrical schematics.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams; may serve as a project lead.
- Support the configuration of systems to meet user and environmental requirements.
- Maintain a proactive approach to capacity planning and infrastructure optimization with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in infrastructure planning or engineering.
- 4+ years of experience may be considered with a Master’s degree.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and interpreting technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of critical infrastructure systems in telecommunications environments.
- Ability to work independently and manage moderately complex engineering assignments.
