Job Summary

The Senior Specialist, Content Strategy will play a critical role within the Brand Strategy team, responsible for helping to bring the Comcast Business brand to life through compelling thought leadership content marketing. The Senior Specialist, Content Strategy will work closely with a variety of teams to amplify thought leadership content across marketing channels - including, but not limited to, Brand Communications, Demand Gen, Events / Experiential, Executive Communications, Internal Communications, Earned Media, and Sales Enablement programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing B2B branded or editorial content. We are looking for a strong writer and editor that can manage the development of content that engages our audience of business and technology decision-makers. This role also requires strong project management skills to coordinate the distribution of content marketing messaging and assets to stakeholders and keep track of a variety deadlines. This role will support Director, Content Strategy to translate brand objectives into thought leadership content in partnership with our agency and media partners. Candidate must be able to work cross-functionally, partnering with teams across the business to assess needs, gather insights, and work with subject matter experts to support content development. Knowledge in areas of telecommunications, information technology and cybersecurity is a plus.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally to gather stakeholder requirements and distribute content and related assets to a variety of stakeholders, including brand communications, sales enablement, dotcom, division and employee communications teams, through internal emails, shared documents, thought leadership portal, and dedicated meetings.
  • Manage ongoing updates to thought leadership content Plan of Record (POR) to ensure latest initiatives are reflected and socialize POR across the organization, including headquarters marketing, divisional marketing, indirect channel marketing, and more.
  • Work with agency to improve process for content socialization and amplification.
  • Under the leadership of Director, Content Strategy, work with internal teams and agency and media partners to develop best-in-class thought leadership content across a variety of formats (video, articles, blogs, audio, event speaking, and more.):
    • Help manage workflow with thought leadership agencies for creative briefings, planning, content development, legal reviews, publishing and amplification
    • Project manage day-to-day workflow with media partners to deliver on strategy and help ensure quality and timely content development, team and legal reviews, and publishing and amplification execution
    • Contribute ideas to shape the development of compelling content for audience of enterprise decision-makers
  • Review, edit, and provide guidance to internal and external content creators based on thought leadership content strategy and brand voice
  • Support development of thought leadership messaging frameworks that bring Comcast Business brand and solutions to life and engage our audience, advance our position, and drive business impact
  • Coordinates multiple priorities while meeting simultaneous deadlines.
  • Follows through to ensure that deadlines are met and deliverables meet specifications.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in managing content marketing development for a brand or media company and managing complex projects
  • Ability to understand market trends and translate into thought leadership topics that will engage an audience of business and technology decision makers
  • Strong collaborative attitude and ability to survey many points-of-view to build consensus
  • Strong writer and editor with ability to develop bespoke content (research, blogs, white papers, videos, infographics) and also direct partners (freelance writers, media partners, analyst firms, etc.) according to plan of record; candidates will be asked to submit writing samples relevant to this role
  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills
  • Self-reliant, problem-solver, and results-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritization ability, handle pressure and meet deadlines with a growth mindset
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, journalism or related field
  • 5-7 years of marketing and/or communications experience
