An organization within Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector, Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA) is a leading innovator in advanced microelectronics design and fabrication. MDA is seeking an Staff Electrical Engineer. This position is located at Baltimore, MD.
The successful candidate should have proven abilities in the design of Printed Wiring Boards, Circuit Card Assemblies, and electrical schematic definition.

This position requires work onsite at our Linthicum, MD or Annapolis Junction, MD facilities.
Roles and Responsibilities:

• Designing electrical components for use in cryogenic systems and subsystems - interfacing with mechanical design counterparts, IPTs, physicists, and RF engineers throughout the entire project lifecycle
• Coordinating and leading PWB layout, CCA design, manufacturing, and other engineering fields as needed for successful fabrication and delivery of completed products
• Create electrical schematic drawings for PWBs and for complex systems
• Create PWBs - stackup design, parts placement, routing, drawing generation
• Provide technical expertise in selection of PWB materials and technologies
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical failures on hardware
• Training and developing junior engineers to solve complex problems and deliver results
• Maintaining configuration documentation and component supply during product use lifetime
• Developing engineering documentation associated with all electrical design and assembly
• Supporting development of analysis/testing of delivered products for design verification to ensure a smooth transition into operation
Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science subject area with 12+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering or related area, Master's Degree with 10+ years of experience
• Expert using CCA design and layout software
• Expert with PWB design and fabrication
• Experience in selection of advanced PWB materials and design rules
• Experience in electrical schematics

• Experience with coordinating across multiple engineering groups to achieve project goal
• Effective verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team environment

• Experience with mentoring junior engineers in skill development
• Experience with leading a technical team
• Experience with process development and standardization
• Must be a UC Citizen
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance per customers requirements
Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Autocad
• Experience with cryogenic systems
• Able to solve fit, form, and/or function issues and quickly generate solutions
• Active US Government security clearance per customers requirements
Primary Level Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
