What You'll Get to Do:
Program/System Level role, assisting the MBSE Lead and MBSE Team within the Directorate of Engineering. Help set standards and ensure adoption of MBSE practices across teams and Programs, provide technical support, share MBSE best practices, provide guidance and development on MBSE concepts and tools to standardize approach, quality, and level of expertise across segments of a large-scale, very complex system.
This position will serve on-site in the greater Baltimore, MD area.
This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers' requirements.
Basic Qualifications for Staff System MBSE Deputy:
• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 10 years of experience with Master's degree, 8 years of experience with PhD
• Demonstrated experience in applying systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices
• Expert-level experience with use of MBSE tools such as SysML, UML, Cameo, and DOORS
• 5+ years experience in technical leadership/lead role of a large group of engineers
• Risk and opportunity management experience
• History of leading teams through executing major engineering milestone reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR) and V&V events successfully
• Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements (e.g., UAF, DoDAF)
• Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross-functionally
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for technical documentation, presentations, and stakeholder interactions
• This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
• Current active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and a polygraph prior to start
Preferred Qualifications for Staff System MBSE Deputy:
• Current active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
• Experience as a CAM for an engineering team in a large program
• Certificate or advanced degree in Systems Engineering
• Substantial experience/exposure to DODAF modeling or similar standard
• Certificate in SysML and/or DODAF
• Experience with generating reports in Cameo utilizing VTL (Velocity Template Language)
• Experience with related OMG schema such as the UML Testing Profile
• Experience with modeling cyber-physical (hardware & software) solutions
• Experience with development and TRP in an Agile environment
• Familiarity with Project & Task Management tools such as Jira or Confluence
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau
Primary Level Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
